Our Florida beaches are a huge attraction and a big reason for our expanding population. Venice and the surrounding area have some of the highest rated beaches not just in Florida, but in our country and beyond.
In Venice and the surrounding communities, we have several beaches that vary in their beauty and appeal. If you want to walk for hours among sand dunes in a more solitude environment, Caspersen Beach in South Venice will be your choice. If you want a beach full of sunbathers and life guards for safe swimming, just go to the West end of Venice Avenue (our Main Street) and you will be right at home at the Venice Municipal Beach. If you want to fish or launch your boat, Nokomis Beach is just north of Venice and waiting for you. If you want to search for shark's teeth, Casey Key beach just a few miles North of Venice will keep you busy for hours.
Then there is Siesta Key Beach which is rated one of the finest beaches in the world. This beach is about a twenty minute ride North of Venice.
I almost forgot to mention Brohard Paw Park. This county park offers the only beach open for walking your dog on a beach and it is right here in Venice.
